"KNOWN UNKNOWNS" - NEW DISCOVERIES OF OLD MEMORABELIA
One may believe that after one hundred continuous years of Scout Camps in Florida, that almost every patch, emblem, or other items have been collected, identified, or recorded. But, while going through the research material for this website, contemporaneous news accounts have yielded information about previously unknown items. These are the "known unknowns". Below are the descriptions of what has yet to be found.

1939: Order of the Arrow inductees: "leatheroid badge with a picture of a tent and the initials L.O., standing for Lake Osborne, on it" 1940: "Twenty-eight Lake Osborne Order of the Arrow badges were awarded to boys that were outstanding in camp life." |

September 29, 1940: "Mr. Bedenbaugh presented the honor camper emblems to the Scouts that had been chosen at the 1940 season of Camp Echockotee as honor campers." CAMP ECHOCKOTEE, 1943
1943 Honor Camper medal: "Sixty-two Jacksonville Boy Scouts received honor emblems last night at the Snyder Memorial Church. The youths were decorated as honor campers for the 1943 season. Fifty-two of the medals were presented to the Scouts in person." Unknown design. |
