CLICK HERE FOR CAMP FLYING EAGLE (SUNNY LAND COUNCIL)
Southwest Florida Council was formed in 1967, but did not have a camp of its own for summer activities.  Camp Flying Eagle was rented by the council for two weeks in 1967, to provide a summer program.  Once the camp came into Southwest Florida Council, it was used for weekend camping, training, OA events, and a few Winter Camps.

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA COUNCIL SUMMER CAMP   1968 - 1970

In 1967, Southwest Florida Council utilized Flaming Arrow Scout Reservation for Summer Camp (no special patch for the council attendees).  Camp Tanah Keeta (Gulf Stream Council) was the site for the 1969 Summer Camp.  Summer Camp 1970 may have been held at either Camp Flying Eagle or Camp Miles.

PRICE -SANDERS SCOUT RESERVATION - CAMP FRANKLIN MILES, CAMP GANNETT   1968 to present

Camp Franklin Miles, located on the Price Sanders Scout Reservation, is the main developed camp on the property.  Another developed site (Camp Gannett) is the designated family campsite.  The tract is owned by the State of Florida, on the Cecil Webb Wildlife Reserve, and is operated by the council on a $1, 100-year lease with the Florida Fish and Game Commission.  The camp was dedicated in July 1971, the first year that the summer camp was run.
